In an age of extraordinary innovation, we know that solutions to the world’s biggest challenges are best achieved when everyone contributes. That’s why, at Singularity University, we aim to ensure that diversity is an integral part of the learning, innovation, and community experiences we deliver.
Supporting our mission to build a global community of change agents, we track gender, national origin, race/ethnicity, age, organization type, and professional background of participants in our Executive Program and Global Startup Program—programs which by their nature are curated specifically to ensure a diversity of skills, backgrounds, and perspectives among participants.
Moreover, as part of our current diversity initiatives, we are expanding diversity reporting throughout all of our programs, with the addition of anonymously collected information such as disability status, sexual orientation, and military status. We will use this data to improve inclusiveness in our community and programming, and to increase transparency through public aggregate reporting.
We commit to growing a more inclusive global innovation ecosystem, and we partner with like-minded organizations and individuals seeking to enrich their own businesses and industries through diversity as they address the world’s most challenging problems. Below are some of our principal collaborators in this effort, past and present. For more information visit our Impact Dashboard, view our annual impact report, or contact us at diversity@su.org to join us in this effort.
Ensuring the accessibility of our learning programs to historically underrepresented communities via increased participation and sponsorship.
Engaging the community and collaborating with partner organizations who are supporting diversity in STEM and entrepreneurship.
Building an internal infrastructure that supports and encourages diversity and creates a culture of inclusivity.
Singularity University hosts an advisory council focused on diversity and inclusion in an effort to gain advice on how to make our community more inclusive and reach a more diverse audience. Our members believe in our mission, share our values and provide strategic guidance on our diversity objectives, which include amplifying the participation of women and people of color in our programs as both participants and faculty/staff. We are enlisting the help of industry pioneers and leaders in order to increase access to our programs, engage and build community with like-minded organizations and develop the internal infrastructure necessary to support these initiatives.
